After approving the minutes of the last meeting on April 17, the Council approved an ordinance to exempt certain &#8220;covered items&#8221; from the municipal sales and use tax during the &#8220;Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday&#8221; as authorized in the Code of Alabama. The &#8220;Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday will be the third full weekend of July beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 21 and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday, July 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Mayor Sunseri announced the hiring of Brian Vickery as a patrolman at $11.55 per hour.
