Brewington, 74, of Arley were\u00a0killed when the 2012 Chevrolet Impala they were in collided head-on with a 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by Joseph Poole, 52, of Stockbridge, Ga. \u00a0Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene<span class=\"s1\">,<\/span> and Poole was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.\u00a0 The crash occurred at\u00a012:30 p.m. on U.S. 278 near the41-mile marker, three miles east of Addison. \u00a0Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate<span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A two-vehicle crash Wednesday, June 1, has claimed\u00a0two lives.\u00a0 Phyllis Callahan Carter, 67, of Athens and Chester D.
