{"id":54,"date":"2016-01-20T21:12:13","date_gmt":"2016-01-20T21:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hbtv.us\/News-for-Haleyville\/?p=54"},"modified":"2016-01-21T21:49:22","modified_gmt":"2016-01-21T21:49:22","slug":"free-tax-preparation-for-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbtv.us\/News-for-Haleyville\/free-tax-preparation-for-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Tax Preparation for 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Free volunteer tax preparation services will be available from the Winston County AARP Tax-Aide sites with locations in Double Springs and Haleyville, AL.\u00a0 Volunteers will prepare and electronically file federal and state tax returns for taxpayers with low and middle incomes.\u00a0 You do not have to be a member of AARP, a retiree, or a certain age to use this service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0These tax sites were developed thru collaboration between the IRS, AARP Tax-Aide, Mayor Robinson of Double Springs and Mayor Sunseri of Haleyville, AL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0Individuals should bring:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Photo proof of identification\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Social Security cards for themselves, their spouse, and dependents or Social Security number verification letters issued \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 by the Social Security Administration\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Birth dates for all persons listed on the tax return\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Wage and earning statement(s) Forms W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R, from all employers and Social Security\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Copies of last year&#8217;s federal and state returns, if available\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit of refunds\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Other relevant information about income and expenses\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Amounts paid for day care, if applicable, and the day care provider&#8217;s identifying number.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Assistance is available by appointment only:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li5\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Call (205)486-3532to make an appointment in Haleyville (David Godsey)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Call (205)489-5447to make an appointment in Double Springs (Kristi)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Haleyville (Old 14<\/span><span class=\"s4\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> Avenue Elementary School \u2013 Chamber of Commerce conference room), at 2324 14<\/span><span class=\"s4\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> Avenue Suite B, tax preparation will be on Tuesday, February 9, March 8, and April 5 from 9:00 a.m. &#8211;
