There were two donations approved, totaling $10,000, for the Coin Program, and Addie&#8217;s Place. <!--more--> An Insurance increase of 6.5%, for the 2022-3 Fiscal Year was approved, and there was discussion concerning a Limb Truck that was damaged in an accident.<\/p>\n<p>The following Resolutions were also approved:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>RESOLUTION #2022-46<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>WHEREAS<\/b> the City of Haleyville is currently working on paving various streets in Haleyville, AND<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>WHEREAS<\/b> the following streets are considered for the 2022 Fall Paving Project:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>Byler Road (patch paving)<\/i><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>8<\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i><sup>th<\/sup><\/i><\/span><i> Street<\/i><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>Beech Grove Road<\/i><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>11<\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i><sup>th<\/sup><\/i><\/span><i> Avenue (28<\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i><sup>th<\/sup><\/i><\/span><i> Street to Newburg Road)<\/i><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>Hill Top Road (Hickory Avenue and Oak Street)<\/i><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><i>Resurface Walking Track Behind Neighborhood Facilities Building<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">WHEREAS City Engineer, Calvin Cassady, P.E., has reviewed these streets and provided preliminary cost estimates totaling $500,989.00 to complete this work. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">WHEREAS City Engineer, Calvin Cassady, P.E. recommends that the City of Haleyville bid out the work required to resurface these streets. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Haleyville<\/b>, that City Engineer, Calvin Cassady, P.E., is hereby authorized to bid out the resurfacing of the above referenced streets and bring the bid results to the <b>City Council<\/b> for their review and approval.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p8\"><b><i>Adopted and approved this the 3<\/i><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b><i><sup>rd<\/sup><\/i><\/b><\/span><b><i> day of October 2022.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>RESOLUTION #2022-47<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>WHEREAS<\/b> the City of Haleyville is currently working on improvements to the bleachers and steps at the Haleyville Dixie Youth Ballfields, and<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>WHEREAS<\/b> the Contractor, M &amp; S Elite Contracting, has requested Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $3,600.00 for additional rock and sod added to the Dixie Youth Baseball field upgrade. This work included laying of filter fabric and rock as well as additional soil and sod.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>WHEREAS<\/b> the Project Engineer, Calvin Cassady, P.E. of The Cassady Company, Inc., has reviewed the laying of the additional rock and sod at the Haleyville Dixie Youth Ballfields and approves this Change Order No. 1. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Haleyville<\/b>, that Mayor Ken Sunseri is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 (attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution) approving the project cost increase of $3,600.00 for additional rock and sod work as described above.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><b><i>Adopted and approved this the 3<\/i><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b><i><sup>rd<\/sup><\/i><\/b><\/span><b><i> day of October 2022.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Haleyville City Council met on Monday, October 3, 2022, with all members present.\u00a0 Boo Brooks was appointed to the Water Board, beginning November 1, 2022, for a 1 year term.
