{"id":17446,"date":"2021-12-07T20:15:25","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T02:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbtv.us\/News-for-Haleyville\/?p=17446"},"modified":"2021-12-11T20:26:39","modified_gmt":"2021-12-12T02:26:39","slug":"haleyville-city-council-76","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbtv.us\/News-for-Haleyville\/haleyville-city-council-76\/","title":{"rendered":"Haleyville City Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the Haleyville City Council meeting, on Monday, December 6, 2021, the Haleyville Parks &amp; Recreation 3rd &amp; 4th Grade All Star Volleyball Team was awarded a Proclamation, and presented with trophies, as they finished the season with the State Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Representing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheTonyBarnesMemorialCharity\">The Tony Barnes Memorial Charity<\/a><\/strong>, Toni Peden requested use of property for a Block Party in July.\u00a0 This was met with approval, pending details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The City of Haleyville is currently working on the 2020 Neighborhood Improvements, including 7<span class=\"s1\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span> Avenue South \u2013 Mineral Springs Apartments, Streets, Drainage, Water, and Sanitary Sewer.\u00a0 Delayed delivery of materials has caused the Contractor to request a time extension of thirty (30) days to complete the project.\u00a0 The Project Engineer has reviewed and approved the extension, making the contract completion date December 28, 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The City of Haleyville has a 1995 Chevrolet GMT 400 C Truck (Vin#1GBKC34F4SJ105660) in the Street and Sanitation Department, which is no longer needed for public or municipal purposes.\u00a0 The Alabama Code of 1975 authorizes the municipal governing body to dispose of unneeded personal property, which will be accomplished by selling above stated property to the Winston County Commission.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Sealed bids for Parking Lot Improvements at Lakeland Community Hospital were received and opened.\u00a0 The Project Engineer has reviewed the bids received and recommends that the project be awarded to Central Alabama Asphalt &amp; Construction Company, LLC for their Base Bid of $237,990.00.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">Addition of a non-destructive Sewer Rehabilitation Project to the American Rescue Plan Act&#8217;s Project list was approved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\">Fontaine Property, approximately 17 acres, was declared as no longer being needed for public or municipal purposes.
