We are also thankful for the kindness shown as we follow Governor Kay Ivey\u2019s proclamation to have no visitors at the hospital. The sacrifices you are making will protect the most vulnerable of our community. I\u2019d like to update you on our preparation for caring for those affected by COVID-19. We are staying abreast of the current CDC and Alabama Department of Public Health\u2019s guidelines. I\u2019d like to pass along some information about our hospital as well as some new information we just received from the Alabama Department of Public Health.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\">\u2022 No confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Winston County<\/li>\n<li class=\"li4\">\u2022 We are well prepared to care for patients with COVID-19 <span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>7 tested for COVID-19; 5 are <b>negative<\/b>, 2 are <b>pending <\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">o 6 negative pressure rooms<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">o 6 ventilators<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">o 4 ICU beds<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">o Fully staffed Emergency Department<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>Fully staffed Med-Surg Unit<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">As I mentioned, we have just received changes from ADPH criteria for testing:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient is <b>symptomatic <\/b>with at minimum (measured or subjective <b>fever <\/b>OR <b>cough OR shortness of breath, and <\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient is <b>hospitalized, or <\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient is <b>immunocompromised or has co-morbidities<\/b>, or<\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient <b>age 65 y<\/b>ears or older, or<\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient is a <b>healthcare worker, <\/b>or<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s2\">o <\/span>The patient is associated with a <b>long-term healthcare facility <\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Again, thank you for your continued support of our hospital.
