The Haleyville Board of Education met Tuesday evening and approved the following:

Board Expenditures for August, 2011, in the amount of $1,171,401.10. August bank statements have been reconciled to the general ledger by the CSFO and approved by the Superintendent;

Substitute teacher list;

Field trip request for Boys Varsity Basketball team to attend Wills Valley shootout in Fort Payne, AL, December 21-23, 2011;

Winston County Children’s Policy Council to receive 20% HCS Agency State At-Risk funds;

Superintendent to appoint local members to the High hopes Advisory Board;

Nomination of Sandra Manasco for AASB’s All-State School Board Member; and,

Professional Development for the superintendent to attend the AASA 2012 National Conference on Education in Houston, Texas, February 14-20, 2012.

In personnel action:

Accepted the resignation of Faye Cummings as Haleyville High School ISS Aide, effective November 30, 2011;

Approved part time supplemental employment of Bettie Creel, Heather Evans, Kathy Rodgers, Steve Spiller and Elaine Tank Duncan as Haleyville High School High Hopes tutors retroactive from the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year;

Approved part time supplemental employment of Donna Jones and Tammy McCreless as tutors with Julie Brooks, Leah Epperson, Beverly Masters, Tammy McKinney, Lea Satcher, Sheila Sewell and Julie Willcoxson as substitute tutors for Homework Hotline at HES retroactive from the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year; and

Approved part time supplemental employment of Anissa McGough and Cindy Taylor as tutors for after school tutoring at HMS retroactive from the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year.

The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, October 25, 7 PM.
