BOE Personnel and Calendar Actions

Here is the agenda from the Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting. Personnel actions follow.

 

1.) To consider approving Field Trip Request of Liz Noble and FBLA student to attend FBLA  National Competition in Orlando, FL June 27 through July 2, 2011.

2.) To consider approving Milk Bid for the 2011-2012 school year to Barber Milk/Dean Foods, LLCwith the following prices: Sweet Tea, individual bottle (12oz.) - $.64: Grade A White, Skim milk (1/2 pint) - $.26; Grade A White, low fat milk ((1/2 pint) - $.26; Grade A Chocolate, low fat  milk (1/2 pint) $.26; Grade A Strawberry, low fat milk (1/2 pint)- $.26.

3.) To consider approving Ice Cream Bid for the 2011-2012 school year to Blue Bell Creameries, Lp. with the following prices; ice cream sandwich, low fat- $.23; Vanilla Ice Cream, individual serve low fat - $.21; Chocolate Ice Cream, individual serve, low fat -$.21; Strawberry Ice Cream individual serve, low fat - $.21; Sherbets, variety of flavors, individual serve - $.21; Popsicles, variety of flavors, individual serve - $.20.

4.) To consider approving Bread Bid for the 2011-2012 school year to Piggly Wiggly, Inc. of Haleyville, Alabama with the following prices: White Sandwich Bread 20 oz. $.93; White Hamburger Buns  (8 pk) $.93: White Hotdog Buns (8 pk) - $.93; White Steak Buns (6 pk) $2.49; Wheat Sandwich Bread 20 oz. $1.20: Wheat Hamburger Buns (8 pk) $2.25; Wheat Hotdog Buns (8 pk) - $2.25; Wheat Steak Buns (6 pk)- $2.49.

5.) To consider approving the following lunch room meal prices for the 2011-2012 school year: Full paid elementary, middle school and high school student breakfast $1.00; reduced student (all schools) breakfast $.30 ; free student (all schools) breakfast $.0; Faculty – (all schools) breakfast $1.25; Visiting Adult breakfast $1.75. Full paid elementary lunch $1.65; Full paid middle school lunch $1.75; Full paid high school lunch $1.75; Reduced student lunch (all schools) $.40; free student (all schools) lunches $.0; Faculty – (all schools) lunch $2.25; visiting adult lunch $3.00; extra milk $.30.

 6.) To consider approving “offer vs. serve” for breakfast at Haleyville High School Lunchroom and “offer vs. serve” for breakfast and lunch at Haleyville Middle School Lunchroom .

7.) To consider approving Haleyville Middle School Lunchroom to enter into contract with Haleyville Mental Health Center – O’Kelley Center to furnish up to 20 lunches per day during the 2011-2012 school year beginning August 11, 2011 and ending May 24, 2012 at a rate of $2.25 per lunch per child and $3.00 per lunch per staff.

8.) To consider approving Haleyville Middle School Lunchroom to enter into contract with Community Action Partnership of North Alabama, Inc. (Head Start) to furnish up to 40 breakfasts per day during the 2011-2012 school year beginning August 11, 2011 and ending May 24, 2012 at a rate of $1.25 per child per breakfast and $2.00 per breakfast per staff and furnish up to 40 lunches per day during the 2011-2012 school year beginning August 11, 2011 and ending May 24, 2012 at a rate of $2.25 per lunch per child and $3.00 per lunch per staff.

9.) To consider approving Haleyville High School Lunchroom to enter into contract with Winston-Marion County ARC to furnish up to 34 lunches per day from October 1, 2011 until September 30, 2012 at a rate of $3.00 per lunch.

10.) To consider approving 2011-2012 school calendar. (Follows personnel section).

11.) To consider approving Drivers Education Summer Program at Haleyville High School to begin on  June 6, 2011.

 Here are the personnel actions taken.

1. To consider approving to hire Linda Mize as Lunchroom Manager at Haleyville High School for the 2011-2012 school year.

2. To consider approving to hire Beth Frazier, Debby Hallman, Angela Jones, Donna Jones, Tammy McCreless, Kay Tedford, Bryan Ward as teachers and Lisa Cook , Leah Epperson, Beverly Masters, Debra Millwood, Sheila Sewell, Jennifer Russell, Julie Wilcoxson and Robin Wilson as substitutes; Pam Woodard (paraprofessional) and Debra Millwood as

Paraprofessional substitute for the 2011 Summer School Program at Haleyville Elementary School.

 3. To consider approving to hire Shane Thomas Reid as secondary social studies teacher and Head Boys Basketball Coach Assignment for the 2011-2012 school year.

4. To consider approving to hire Bettie Creel, Emile Gilbreath, Brookie Pulliam and Miriam Tucker as teachers and Kelly Woodard as Bus Driver/ Aide for the 2011 Summer School Program at Haleyville High School.

5. To consider approving to hire Barry Butler as inside custodian at Haleyville Middle School effective June 1. 2011.

6. To consider approving the voluntary resignation of Greg Taylor as teacher/ coach at Haleyville High School, effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

G. That the following teachers and administrators be retained for the 2011-2012 school year inasmuch as they already are under tenure and hold continuing service status.
