The Haleyville Board of Education met Thursday and approved the following: 

  • Contract of Susan Riggs as principal of Haleyville Elementary School for the 2011-2012 through 2013 2014 school years. This is a three year contract position in accordance with Title 16, Chapter 24B, Section 3 of the Code of Alabama, Laws Relating to Education.

  • Board Expenditures for February, 2011, in the amount of $1,098,571.67

  • Field Trip Request for JV and Varsity Cheerleaders to attend UCA Cheer Camp at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL May 31 – June 3, 2011.

  • Out of state travel for Brock Dunn, Heather Evans, Linda Godsey, Roger Satcher, Greg Taylor, Whitney Webb and alternates Neina Middleton and Al Temple as chaperons for the Annual Senior Educational Tour, May 14-22, 2011.

  • Substitute Teacher List.

  • Field Trip Request for Liz Noble and FBLA students to attend FBLA Conference in Birmingham April 14-15, 2011.

  • Field Trip Request for Neina Middleton and DECA students to attend ICDA-DECA “International” Career Development Competition in Orlando, FL April 29-May 4, 2011.

  • Field Trip Request for Emile Gilbreath, Deb Hamrick, Kristi Ward and MY CALL Senior Students to travel to Gulf Shores, AL for their annual educational trip.

  • Field Trip Request for Drafting students and Jimmy McCrary to attend Skills USA State contest in Birmingham April 27-28, 2011.

  • The 2011-2012 Textbook Committee.

  • Fundraisers for JV and Varsity Cheerleaders and FCCLA.

  • Resignation of Myra Steele as Haleyville High School Lunchroom Manager, effective May 26, 2011. Mrs. Steele retains non-probationary status as a lunchroom worker.

The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, April 26, 7 PM, HHS.
