Veterans Affairs Office To Close

Winston County Veterans Service Officer Dwight Thomas is retiring and the Haleyville office of the Department of Veterans Affairs will close after Wednesday, June 23, with all files to be moved to the Double Springs office. Thomas will be in the Double Springs office in the John Nichols Building, the old Health Department, at 24714 Hwy 195 Room 5, June 30, his last day with the department.

The Double Springs office will be open Mondays and Fridays only, 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM, and Walker County's service officer, Rita Knight, will provide services. The phone number at the Double Springs office is (205) 489-5276.
