Muscle Shoals, Ala. -- Northwest-Shoals Community College’s (NW-SCC) Ready to Work (RTW) Program will begin a new student session Tuesday, January 19th, for individuals at least 16 years of age who are seeking a new or more fulfilling career.

New student sessions for the Ready to Work program are FREE to the community. Sessions will be held on the Shoals campus in building 127. Participants may attend either the morning session at 10:00 a.m. or the evening session at 6:00 p.m.

The RTW Program is operated by the Alabama Community College System’s Division of Workforce Development in cooperation with the Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT). Upon successful completion, trainees earn the following certifications: 1) Alabama Certified Worker (ACW) and 2) National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), also commonly referred to as WorkKeys.

According to NW-SCC Ready to Work Coordinator, Tara Branscome, the RTW Program has enrolled over 1100 students since 2008. “The Ready to Work program at Northwest-Shoals has been consistently one of the top programs in the state,” said Branscome.
