Members of the HES Kindness and Compassion Club went to City Hall Thursday evening to present Haleyville Police officers with "Thank You" notes. This is part of the new program at HES that was born out of Rachel's Challenge. For these children Thursday is "Thank You Thursday." They write thank you notes on Thursdays and deliver them once each month.

HES Principal Susan Riggs said, "We are teaching our children about being kind and caring." The school is now adorned with construction paper links forming "a chain reaction" of good deeds. Students are being identified and praised for displaying acts of kindess and compassion. Every act becomes a link in the chain.
