Accident Takes Life

A single-vehicle crash at 2:40 a.m., Jan. 1, claimed the life of a Nauvoo man.  William Robert Legg, 69, was killed when the 2003 Ford F150 he was driving left the roadway, struck an embankment and collided with a tree.  Legg, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The crash occurred on Alabama 5 near the 175 mile marker, one mile north of Jasper. Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
