The Haleyville Police Department has taken another big step in the War on Drugs. Saturday around 1:45 a.m. Haleyville officers made a routine traffic stop for improper lights. The driver gave officers consent to search the vehicle, and the search resulted in the discovery of approximately 21 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine. (As with all drug crimes, the acquired material will have to be tested to confirm the product.)  The product was divided into small bags of 1 and 2 grams each and a larger bag containing approximately 13 grams.

Tanna Lynne Barnett, 23 of Winfield, was the passenger of the vehicle. Officers took Barnett in to custody, and she was transported to the Winston County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell or Distribute.

Jason Lee Price, 34 of Fayette, was the driver of the vehicle. Price had outstanding warrants for Manufacturing of Methamphetamine 2nd degree in Marion County and was released to the Marion County Sheriff's Department and transported to the Marion County Jail.
