The Haleyville City Council met for their regularly scheduled bi-monthly meeting Monday evening at Haleyville City Hall. Councilmen Richard Bittinger and Jonathan Bennett were absent. The council first approved council meeting minutes from 2/18/14. Next, they discussed and approved clean up in Hill Crest Cemetery, which includes cutting down, topping, and other repairs to various trees throughout the cemetery. The city does not have the needed equipment to make the repairs in such small spaces between the graves, and the lowest bid on the project was Trees R Us at $9,500. Then, the council discussed improvements to the tennis and basketball courts at the 21st Street Gym. The council discussed options for these improvements but decided to look more into the matter before making any decisions. The council will discuss this matter at the next work session and will vote on the project at the next Haleyville City Council meeting.

Mayor Sunseri announced a Zoning Board of Adjustment for March 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the courtroom to discuss a proposed variance for off-street automobile parking. Finally, they heard comments from the audience before adjourning.
