The Haleyville City Board of Education met Tuesday night, and all members were present. The meeting opened with the approval of minutes from the previous meeting and today's agenda. The following items were approved with no objection.

-expenditures for the month of March in the amount of $1,279,904.43

-field trip for auto tech students to Birmingham for Skills USA State Finals

-use of football field for Mark Forester Price of Freedom Race

-field trip for FFA students to Auburn and Montgomery for FFA State Convention

-field trip to the University of Alabama for summer camp for cheerleaders

-HHS and HMS 2013-2014 school year sports calendar

-central office bookkeeping and payroll accounting procedures manual 

-sell of excess kitchen equipment to William Bishop Sr. (highest bid)

-Nike basketball clinic in Tunica, MS for Jason Cooper, Shane Reid, Al Temple, Kelly Rushing, and  Senn Wlliams

-appointment of Wayne Wilkes as volunteer junior varsity and middle school  football coach for 2013 spring and summer

-use of athletic field house for sports physicals

-2013-2014 coaching assignments 

-results of audit entered into minutes

-11 fund raisers for school system 

Then, Dr. Miller announced the retirement of Pam Brown, Gina Bass, and Leigh Satcher from HES and Patricia Bachelor from HHS. He thanked them for their dedication to the school and their students and wished them well in their future endeavors. Dr. Miller and the board also recognized Mr. Roger Satcher, as this was his last regular session board meeting as principal of HHS. The board wished Mr. Satcher and his family well In their new adventures and thanked him for his eight years of service to Haleyville. 

The next regular session board meeting will be held May 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
