The City of Haleyville is working with ServPro to create "Emergency Ready Profiles" for buildings in the city. The purpose of the profiles is to have all the information necessary to respond to an emergency and to have it in one easily accessible place.

The profiles contain information needed to respond to and recover from any type of disaster. The data can be anything from the location of the water cut-off to the contact information for an electrician. The profiles utilize pictures and descriptions, as well as contact lists, to aid those responding to an emergency. All information is collected in one binder and digitally.

ServPro's Terry Whitmon said that knowing what to do and what to expect in advance of a disaster is the key to timely mitigation and can help minimize how damage can affect operations.

There is no charge for the profile creation and Mayor Ken Sunseri said, "I encourage area businesses to take advantage of this opportunity."

City department heads met Thursday morning to work on the profiles. “The important thing,” Sunseri added, “is I am forcing our personnel to go into their emergency plans."
