The Haleyville City Council met Monday evening with Jonathan Bennett and Royce Benefield absent. The two items on the agenda were approved including the general operation bills and purchase orders for March in the amount of$522,786.69 and the purchase of 12 bullet-proof vests for the Police Department. The vests total cost was $9,600 but with a 50/50 grant, the city’s obligation was only $4,800.

The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 5:30 p.m. at the Haleyville City Hall.
