Following a trip to Washington D.C. last week, Mayor Sunseri stated he did not think to donate the 9-1-1 phone to the Smithsonian was a good idea because of the restrictions the Smithsonian would impose. The phone would forever become the property of the Smithsonian and would be difficult to borrow back. However, while there, Sunseri learned of the new National Law Enforcement Museum presently under construction which will display the phone and loan it back to the City of Haleyville when requested.
