New hangers are up at the Haleyville airport. Doors are expected to be hung soon.

The Haleyville City Council met Monday with Drew Thrasher absent. The Council approved a low bid of $257,250.00 for paving the parking lot and walking trail at the Sports Complex from Central Alabama Asphalt and Construction Company of Tuscaloosa. The Council approved advertising for a Park and Recreational seasonal  employee to cut grass, weed eat and other outdoor work at the city lake and other areas. Don Defoor was appointed to the planning commission and Shane Cook was appointed to the Industrial Development Board.

With the recommendation of the Park & Recreation Supervisor Joel Sherrill, Mayor Sunseri hired the flowing personnel to work in the P&R Department. James Bryan Lawler – Ground Maintenance at $10.50/hr (full-time) then after 90 days and a favorable evaluation, a pay adjustment to $11.00/hr. Misty McNutt – Sports Complex concession stand at $9.50/hr (seasonal).

The next meeting of the Haleyville City Council will be Monday, March 20, 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
