The Winston County Arts Council sponsored Drama Club is presenting performances of Cyrano de Burger Shack at Looney’s Tavern. The play, which features students from four county schools, is a Pop musical and a modern re-telling of a French literary classic that is just as timely today here in North Alabama.

Cyrano de Burger Shack features 18 great radio hits from the 80s, 90s and today, such as We Got the Beat, Crazy for You, Lost in Your Eyes and Call Me Maybe. All of these favorites and more are re-imagined into high energy character and story songs that are emotional as well as humorous.

Cyrano, who runs the Burger Shack after school hang-out, is quick-witted and has a way with words. He also has a ginormous nose!  Is Cyrano correct to think the beautiful Roxanne could ever fall for him? Roxanne has a crush on the new handsome guy in town. Will their friends stand idly by as Cyrano, Roxanne and Christian complicate their lives in an attempt to find true love?

Enjoy a rollicking, spirited, fun-filled evening inside the Dual Destiny Theater at Looney’s Tavern, 24000 Hwy 278, Double Springs.  May 11, 7 pm May 12, 2 pm and 7 pm.
