Assistant at Red Bay School Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges

At the request of the Red Bay Police Department, on January 2, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) opened an investigation into allegations of abuse made against an assistant in the Reb Bay school system. Information gained from the investigation led to the arrest of  James Lamar Horton on January 24, 2018, for the following charges: 4 counts of Indecent exposure, 2 counts of Sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, and 1 count of Criminal surveillance.  Horton was incarcerated at the Franklin County Detention Facility without incident and during a bond hearing earlier today, he received a bond of $200,000.  Individuals with concerns or information pertaining to the investigation may contact the SBI Region E Russellville Office at (256) 436-1344.
