• HCS Block Party Huge Success

    The HCS Back to School Block Party was a huge success as hundreds filled the back parking lot of the Haleyville City Hall Monday evening, August 5. The Haleyville Chamber of Commerce provided popsicles and Winston Trailers provided the stage for music performances by Jud Mize from Winston Ramble and John Barton. The HHS band and cheerleaders also performed. The Haleyville Police Department and Winston County Sheriffs Department provided security. The Haleyville Fire and Rescue and the National Guard had brought trucks & equipment. Encore, Traders & Farmers, Lakeland Hospital, FCCLA, HCS CNP, HMS Volleyball, HHS SGA, HHS, HMS and HES had booths and food too. Haleyville Park & Rec had a giant slide. Snow Balls was were a welcomed treat. Great weather, unlike the day before, made it a great and successful event.

  • Haleyville City Council

    The Haleyville City Council met Monday, August 5 with Drew Thrasher absent. After approving the minutes of the last meeting on July 15, the Council approved Tim Roberton assisting/Megan Lovett nuisance abatements. Three resolutions were approved, two for matching funds for a grant for wildlife fencing at the Haleyville airport and one for striping of newly resurfaced city streets.

    The next meeting of the Haleyville City Council will be on Monday, August 19 at the Haleyville City Hall.
