• What’s On the Ballot Tuesday

    On Tuesday, November 6, Northwest Alabama residents will go to the polls to vote for their local and statewide representatives, including the governor and District 4 representative. In addition to the candidates, there are four proposed amendments to the state constitution to be decided by the public.

    The first amendment for consideration would add language to the constitution to allow for the display of the Ten Commandments on public property.  One amendment would in the future protect unborn life, depending on a change by the U.S. Supreme Court. One would allow one person from each of the U.S. Congressional Districts to be appointed to the University of Alabama Board of Trustees. And the last is to eliminate certain elections, saving taxpayers dollars.  Continue reading
