The Haleyville City Council met Monday with Jonathan Bennett absent. The Council approved the operation bills and Purchase Orders for May in the amount of $457,442.40.

After a demonstration of LED lighting by Trent Stephenson of MPE Services of Florence, the Council approved the purchase and installation of LED replacement lights for the Neighborhood Facilities Building and the 21st Street gym for a total cost of $7,521.00.

Resolution 2018-7 was passed giving approval for a tax abatement to Kith Kitchens. The company met the criteria for the 10-year abatement with a major $6.5 million expansion project. The abatement does not include any educational taxes.

The next scheduled meeting of the Haleyville City Council will be Monday, July 2.
