The Haleyville City Council met Monday with the longest agenda on record for this council. Mayor Sunseri and the council presented a plaque to retired Haleyville Fire Chief Phillip Weaver. Phillip has been a fireman for over 30 years.

Approval was made by the council to annex property into the city as requested by the owners Jerry Whitman, Sr., Jerry Whitman, Jr, and Kim Ann Balkenbush. A resolution changed a contractor for miscellaneous paving projects around town, from the original low bidder, Shoals Paving and Sealing to the next to lowest bidder Mallory Burkhalter Paving because Shoals Paving was not current with the city of Haleyville in paying the required occupational taxes.
