• Arthur Has One Appeal Left

    TOMMY ARTHUR

Tommy Arthur, a Shoals area native but no stranger to the Haleyville area and the mobile home manufacturing industry during the 70’s and early 80’s has but one more chance to avoid execution. He has received a stay of execution 7 times in the last 15 years while sitting on death row. His last stay was on November 3, 2016. Arthur was found guilty of a murder for hire of Troy Wicker of Muscle Shoals in 1982. One of his latest appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court was denied a review on Monday, January 23.  However, he has yet another appeal to the Supreme Court based on the lethal injection method used by Alabama. If the U.S. Supreme Court refuses to hear the case, his stay of execution will go away and yet another date for execution will be set.
